Quick Pizza

Made a quick pizza on the grill tonight using up some frozen dough we had. It was decent considering the dough quality. The good news is that now its time to make new dough.

Fresh Made Hamburgers

I used our new kitchen aid meat grinder to grind up some beef eye round. I used part of it to make some hamburgers. They were a bit dry due to the lack of fat but pretty good for my first attempt. I also grilled up some broccolini. Yum.

Thursday Boston Butt

I have a 3.5 lb Boston Pork Butt ready to smoke on the BGE today. I’ll update this post as we go.

Spice Rub

  • 1/2 Cup Kosher Salt
  • 1 Tbsp Crack Black Pepper
  • 1 Tbsp Oregano
  • 2 Tbsp Paprika
  • 1 Tbsp Celery Salt (no celery seed in the house so I  kept the amount down)
  • 1 Tbsp Chilli Powder
  • 1 Tbsp Onion Powder (no garlic powder in the house)

Its going to make more than I need but I will save the rest for later.

Spice Rub

Looks like my phone decided to not save the picture I took before I put the butt and wood chips on the BGE. I’ll make sure I pay more attention when I take it off. Its been 2 hours and I haven’t opened the egg once. Its holding steady at 250 degrees F. I love the egg.

I had to add some more charcoal so here’s a picture around 3 hours in.

I used the BGE plate setter for the first time. It worked great. It really does make it really easy to do indirect cooking. I can’t wait to use it again.

Here it is done after 4 hours and 45 minutes of rest. Not long enough to make pulled pork but delicious none the less.

Genesis

I finally put together my new Weber Genesis E-310 today. It only took 2 hours surprisingly. Here are some pictures.
